Blog 44: Health Club Marketing Repetition Part 1

Repetition has been defined by Anthony Robbins (http://www.tonyrobbins.com/) as “the mother of skill.” I agree with that a hundred percent. You can never get great at anything without repeating it over and over and over again and that is not to be confused with Albert Einstein’s definition of insanity which is “doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result” but rather, repetition is required and is an absolute must to achieve “the same” result over and over again.

Repetition is doing the same thing over and over again expecting “the exact same” result. You want to be able to repeat something over and over again until it becomes second nature to you so that you can condition yourself to whatever it is you are trying to accomplish. If you want your brand or your message to get across to people; you will want to advertise the same message repeatedly “not to be confused” with the same ad. Repeat your message over and over but changing up the ad copy, ad design, and ad content to keep it from being boring and going unnoticed. What you want to do is to be consistent with your message. It will build your brand as a household name within your community so you want to continue to repeat some of the same messages that you want to get across to your community. For example, MMC® always adds “driving up health club revenue” in our marketing materials to maintain brand consistency throughout our marketing.

In your health club marketing, another part of repetition is doing something you want to make sure will pay off in the future. For example, they say that it takes 13 to 15 times of being in front of the consumer before your name is even recognized in the marketplace. So another step that you will want to take is repeating your health club marketing efforts over and over again using various marketing media.
